The Ontario Pork Research Committee is pleased to announce that it will fund seven swine-focused research projects this year. 

The projects include a study of pig feeder space ratios in Ontario nursery and finisher barns; testing methods to identify feed ingredients; and investigating improvements to Streptococcus suis autogenous vaccines. 

“Research is the fundamental building block of progress. That’s why Ontario Pork is committed to investing in research and innovation that will take this industry to the next level,” says Arno Schrober, chair of the Ontario Pork Research Committee. “We are funding projects that will advance all areas of the industry, including swine production, economic sustainability, marketing, product development and social science research.”

Ontario Pork puts out a call for research proposals once a year. Projects are approved for funding by the board on recommendation of the research committee.
