Ronald Johnson

Dr. Ron Johnson is a DVM and associate professor of veterinary clinical pharmacology in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, and is co-director of the Canadian gFARAD. Dr. Johnson graduated from the University of Guelph in 1990 (DVM), then attended Michigan State University where he completed a PhD in Pharmacology and Toxicology (2000), and a veterinary clinical pharmacology residency (2000). Dr. Johnson became board certified in the American College of Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology in 2004.  Dr. Johnson received veterinary clinical drug development and drug approval regulatory experience while working for a large animal health company in the USA (2000-2004).

Dr. Johnson conducts veterinary clinical pharmacology research in the areas of human food safety including drug depletion and withdrawal period studies in food producing animals, and other veterinary clinical pharmacology research including clinical efficacy trials, pharmacokinetic studies, and animal model drug discovery and metabolism studies.
