Ontario Pork Producer Bill Wymenga receives the Brian Kennedy award from the Canadian Centre for Swine Improvement

Former Canadian Pork Council Director and Ontario producer Bill Wymenga was presented with the Brian Kennedy award by the Canadian Centre for Swine Improvement (CCSI) during the association’s annual general meeting in Ottawa last week. CCSI presents this award to recognize individuals who, through their involvement in scientific research, program development or program implementation, have made a significant contribution to the Canadian Swine Improvement Program and swine industry. “Bill Wymenga is fully deserving of this award for his long-time contribution to the improvement of the Canadian swine industry” said Rick Bergmann, Canadian Pork Council Chair. “Congratulations Bill and thank you for all your work” he adds. The Canadian Pork Council also took the opportunity to present Bill Wymenga with a plaque commemorating his involvement on the CPC Board of Directors. Mr. Wymenga was on the board of directors for seven years before retiring last January. The Canadian Pork Council is the national voice for hog producers in Canada. A federation of nine provincial pork industry associations representing 7,000 farms, the organization plays a leadership role in achieving and maintaining a dynamic and prosperous Canadian pork sector.
