Swine Health Ontario New Manager – Bethany Davidson-Eng

Swine Health Ontario (SHO) is pleased to announce Bethany Davidson-Eng, Ph.D, P. Ag as the new Manager of Swine Health Ontario. SHO is a leadership team dedicated to ensuring the Ontario industry has a global competitive advantage through swine health excellence.


Bethany is a certified professional agronomist, has a Ph.D in Environmental Science from the University of Guelph as well as Bachelor of Environment Studies from the University of Waterloo. Through her doctorate, Bethany explored how farmers’ local knowledge of their soil influenced land management and soil quality in Brazil’s Natuba Basin. She strives to bridge the gaps between physical and social sciences, aiming to work at the interface to develop lasting scientific change in the agriculture and environmental sectors.

“Our Leadership team looks forward to the enthusiasm and unique experience Bethany will bring to SHO,” said Amy Cronin, SHO Chair.

 


 

About Swine Health Ontario Swine Health Ontario is an industry-wide steering committee that collaborates to improve and better coordinate the industry’s ability to prevent, prepare for and respond to serious swine health threats in Ontario. SHO’s activities will be visible and industry-led, with a producer focus and a continuous improvement philosophy. The founding members of Swine Health Ontario are Ontario Pork and Ontario Pork Industry Council (OPIC) with input from Ontario Ministry of Agriculture Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA).
